拉钢式冷床，其特点是利用单爪绳式或链式拉钢机，横向成批拖运轧件。这种拉钢机往往配备有潜行装置，以达到有选择性地拖运某一根（束）轧件的目的。潜行装置有两种形式：一种是杠杆式，另一种是滑块式。
