水管是供水的管道，现代装修水管都是采用埋墙式施工，水管的分类有三种，一类是金属管，如内搪塑料的热镀铸铁管、铜管、不锈钢管等。第二类是塑复金属管，如塑复钢管，铝塑复合管等。第三类是塑料管，如PB、PP-R。

加热管材的性能指标是一个完整的指标体系，不能就其某一个指标来判定能否在低温地板辐射采暖工程中使用，能否保证其有50年的寿命。有些企业只对产品做一些短期的物理检测，就声称可以使用50年，这是不科学的。有些企业在不说明保证多长寿命的情况下称其产品能耐多高的温度也是没有意义的。应该对管材的压力指标、温度指标、使用时间等指标综合评价才是科学的、有意义的。实际上塑料管材在相同的压力下，工作温度不同，其寿命不同；在相同的温度下，压力不同，寿命不同。但是，50年的寿命是不可能通过实际的实验方法来验证的。因此，在ISO9080标准中提出了“时温等效变换法”的验证方法来证明这一点，其方法是：通过提高实验温度和实验压力求得寿命来推算低温使用条件下管材的实际寿命。由测试温度与实际使用温度之间的温差⊿T确定外推因子Ke，实验得到的试验时间Tmax和Ke的乘积就是容许外推计算所能达到的长寿命。
