ANGUIL热交换器TheAnguilRegenerativeCatalyticOxidizer(RCO)destroysairtoxinsandVolatileOrganicCompounds(VOCs)thataredischargedinindustrialprocessexhausts.TheAnguilsystemachievesVOCdestructionthroughtheprocessofcatalyticoxidation,convertingtheVOCstocarbondioxideandwatervapor,recyclingreleasedenergytoreduceoperatingcosts.HowtheRegenerativeCatalyticOxidizerWorksProcessgaswithVOCcontaminantsenterstheTwinBedRCOthroughaninletmanifold.Aflowcontrolvalvedirectsthisgasintoanenergyrecoverychamberwhichpreheatstheprocessstream.Theprocessgasandcontaminantsareprogressivelyheatedinthestonewarebedastheymovetowardthecatalystbed.TheVOCsarethenoxidizedacrossthecatalyst,releasingenergyinthesecondstonewarebed,therebyreducinganyauxiliaryfuelrequirement.Thestonewarebedisheatedandthegasiscooledsothattheoutletgastemperatureisonlyslightlyhigherthantheinlettemperature.Theflowcontrolvalveswitchesandalternatesthestonewarebedssoeachisininletandoutletmode.IftheprocessgascontainsenoughVOCs,theenergyreleasedfromtheircombustionallowsself-sustainedoperation.Forexample,at95%thermalenergyrecovery,theoutlettemperaturemaybeonly77°(25°)higherthantheinletprocessgastemperature.PLC-basedelectronicsautomaticallycontrolallaspectsoftheRCOoperationfromstart-uptoshutdownsothatminimaloperatorinterfaceisrequired.)
